ASHLEY MONROE SELLS OUT “BUSH HALL” IN LONDON
Rising country star Ashley Monroe performed for audiences this past week as part of Europe’s largest country music festival, C2C Country to Country, which drew crowds of over 50,000 throughout the weekend. Stops included London, Dublin and Glasgow, where Monroe earned admiration from BBC Radio Scotland, who called her music a “lovely discovery.”
Additionally, she performed at the CMA Songwriters Show at the Indigo at O2, as well as for her own sold-out headlining show at Bush Hall in London, where fans praised her for her gorgeous voice and skilled musicianship. Given the huge reaction she had following her performance, she treated her fans to a second encore at Bush Hall. “Monroe’s voice can sound fragile on the softer parts of her songs but ‘Winning Streak’ really allows her to let rip and showcase the power she possesses,” notes Entertainment Focus.
The acclaimed singer/songwriter recently created live-in-studio recordings of select tracks, including “If The Devil Don’t Want Me,” from her universally lauded album The Blade at the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis. The album, produced by Vince Gill and Justin Niebank, shot to No. 1 on the iTunes Country Chart upon release and earned 2016 GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album. Rolling Stone hailed it as “an instant classic” while TIME declared, “The Blade [is] a razor-sharp collection of newly minted, yet classic, country.”
